Thidaware Native American Garden

The Thidaware Native American Garden is a program of the Thidaware Indigenous Americans Association that celebrates the enduring agricultural knowledge, food traditions, and cultivation practices of Native American peoples.

The Garden features foods that originated with Indigenous peoples of the Americas and continues to nourish communities throughout the world today. These foods include corn, beans, squash, sunflowers, amaranth, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and various herbs. Through these living examples, the Garden helps visitors understand that Native American agriculture represents thousands of years of environmental knowledge, innovation, cultivation, and stewardship that continues to inform sustainable agriculture today.

The Thidaware Native American Garden serves as a living classroom where students, families, volunteers, and community members can explore the deep connections between land, food, culture, health, and heritage. It reflects the organization’s commitment to education, preservation, and respect for Indigenous knowledge rooted in the land.
